I will explain some reasons why I choose English Literature as my major.
There are many reasons why I choose English Literature become my major.
The first reason was because English has always been my favorite subject. I think
English is easier to understand than other subjects like math or science, which
must to remember the formulas and find
for the result.
I want to learn English more, in other side I want to speak
English fluently because I’m intresting in language. Since I was in high
school, I loved chatting with strangers. We talked about our daily life and
cultures. It is really fun! From there I learned a lot and I want to improve
more my English skills. So when I was graduated from high school, I decided
English Literature as my major in University. Anyway English it’s the world
language, so English can help me to communicate with foreigner. By learning
English, we will also learn about other cultures. Few experiences will make me
grow as a person more than learning the values, habits and way of life in a
culture that is different from us.
Another reason I choose English major is because I feel it
will be a good foundation for graduate school. there are many employment
opportunities for people who graduated from English Literature. We can work as
teacher, translator, ambassador, journalism, and etc. Most employers require
the same set of skills as communication, interpersonal, and organization.
So I become an English major not only to learn more about
reading and writing literature, but to help me in my career goal as becoming an
ambassador. Well, I’m interested in being an ambassador for destination,
because I would be able to use my language skills. I will enjoy traveling and
getting to know new cultures and countries. So I just should to practice more
and more on English skills to catch my dream goal as ambassador.
